  1. I’m sure this book is a useful classroom textbook simply for its content. Besides that, it is one of only a few books I have found where the English and Spanish pages are laid out in parallel format, making it a useful tool for real sentence comparisons to learn the other language. Obviously, my interest is to learn Spanish. This is not one of those new-agey books about Mexico. The history content is legitimate and easy-to-follow (probably written for middle school history classes). The pictures are impressive, too. I don’t mind the quizzes at the end of each section, although that is not my primary reason for buying this book. It’s a great tool for English speakers to learn Spanish and vice-versa.
